Privacy Policy

This page explains what information Melgar Law Firm collects when you visit melgarlawfirm.com or use our chat and our online tools, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Information you give us

When you ask for a case review in our chat or in one of our online tools, or when you book a consultation, we receive:

  • Your name and phone number, and your email if you choose to give it.
  • How you prefer to be contacted: call, text or WhatsApp.
  • Your answers about the accident and anything you write about what happened.
  • The date and time of your consultation, if you book one.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our pages or use our tools, our own system records:

  • Your IP address (the number your internet connection uses).
  • Your approximate location based on that IP address: country, state and city. It is not your exact address.
  • Which of our tools you open and how far you get in them.
  • Where your visit came from (for example, Google, Facebook or a link someone sent you).
  • Your type of device (phone, tablet or computer), your browser, your language and the date and time.

How we use your information

  • To contact you about your case, the way you asked us to.
  • To schedule your consultation and remind you about it.
  • To understand which pages and tools help people and which areas our visitors come from, so we can improve them.
  • To protect our site and our forms from spam and abuse.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell your information.
  • We do not share your phone number or your consent to receive text messages with third parties for their marketing.
  • We do not use advertising trackers that follow you across other websites.

Who else processes your information

Your requests are stored in our own system, not in an outside CRM. A few service providers help us run the site and only process information to provide that service:

  • Cloudflare, which protects and delivers our site and, like any web server, receives your IP address.
  • Google, which delivers the emails that notify our team about a new request, and shows the map on our home page and our office page.
  • WhatsApp, only if you choose to write to us there. WhatsApp's own terms apply.

We may also share information when the law requires it.

Cookies and browser storage

Our site does not set its own cookies. It uses your browser's storage only to make the site work:

  • Your language choice, kept until you clear your browser data.
  • Your progress in the chat and in our tools, and where your visit came from. This is erased when you close the tab.

The Google map on our home page and our office page may set Google cookies when it loads. Google's privacy policy applies to them. You can block cookies in your browser settings and our site will still work.

How long we keep your information

We keep your information as long as we need it for the purposes above and to handle your case, and as long as the law and the professional rules for attorneys require.

How we protect your information

Our site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Your requests are stored on a server we manage, and only authorized members of our team can see them, with a password. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we have about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, or ask us to stop contacting you. Write to us or call us using the details below. We may need to keep some information when the law or the professional rules for attorneys require it.

Children

Our site is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
